Could anyone tell me if the 7 Speed DSG in the new Tiguan R Line Tech 1.5 TSI EVO is a Wet or Dry clutch??
Thanks in advance

It's definitely wet on the 180tsi.
I'm 99% certain it's wet on the 1.5.
I don't think any current Tigs have the unreliable dry box.

I'm with Kugaman1. I think all Tiguans with DSG7 is the DQ500 wet clutch gearbox. All 2.0l TSI and most TDI's have to much torque for the DQ200 dry clutch gearbox anyway. But to be sure ask VW!

I was concerned about this, especially after an honest John column the other week. My 1.5 is being built next week, and if you look at the specification on the build list after you configure your car it says differentiation for transmission "DQ381" -- vehicle components --. Which I believe is the wet clutch. Tbh my dealer couldn't help me with what clutch the DSG was going to be, but with a little poking around on the configurator I found it. Im quite relieved!

Thanks for your replies. Sounds like it is more than likely a wet clutch.
Henry11 - How did you find this on the configurator? DQ381 is definitely a wet clutch.

8urn, I just built the car, then looked at the summary, and on the list it shows it midway down.

It's a wet box, VW charged me roughly £180 for my DSG oil change service. I clearly remember it stated DQ500 on my build list that my dealer showed to me.

Why did it need an oil service so soon? Had you done loads of miles?

Just come up 15 months old and almost 50k on the clock now. VW recommend a DSG oil change every 40k miles.

Anyone can confirm this for the 1.5tsi evo?
In the 2.0 TSI & TDI it would be the DQ500. I am not sure about the 1.5...

I believe it uses the DQ200 dry clutch version.

I had this confirmed by my dealer:
"The Tiguan R-Line Tech 1.5 150PS DSG is DQ381 and has wet clutch as per technical team"
So good news! Would imagine it would be the same for all 1.5TSI variants.

Your salesman could be correct. Upon further digging the early versions in the Golf were the DQ200 which are being replaced by the DQ381.
